Acceptance of Terms
- By using Butterbase, you agree to these terms
- If you don't agree, don't use the service
- We can update these terms - you'll be notified of major changes
- Continued use after changes means you accept the new terms
Account Responsibilities
- You must be 18+ to create an account
- Provide accurate information (business name, email, etc.)
- Keep your password secure - you're responsible for account activity
- One person per account (unless you're on a team plan)
- Don't share login credentials
- Notify us immediately if your account is compromised
Acceptable Use
- Use Butterbase for legitimate bakery/food business operations
- Don't use it for illegal activities or to harm others
- Don't try to hack, reverse engineer, or break the platform
- Don't spam, abuse, or harass other users or our team
- Don't resell or redistribute our service without permission
- Don't upload viruses, malware, or malicious code
Your Content & Data
- You own all recipes, customer data, and content you create
- You grant us permission to store and process your data to provide the service
- You're responsible for backing up critical data (we backup too, but it's smart)
- We can display aggregated, anonymized data for marketing (no personal info)
- You can export your data anytime
- If you delete your account, your data is permanently deleted within 30 days
Payment Terms
- Free plan is free forever (with feature limits)
- Paid plans are billed monthly or annually
- Prices may change with 30 days notice
- No refunds for partial months (cancel anytime, access until period ends)
- Payment failures may suspend your account
- We use Stripe for payment processing (PCI compliant)
Service Availability
- We strive for 99.9% uptime but can't guarantee it
- Scheduled maintenance will be announced in advance
- We're not liable for downtime, data loss, or service interruptions
- We backup your data regularly but recommend you do too
- Force majeure events (natural disasters, wars, etc.) may affect service
Intellectual Property
- Butterbase owns all platform code, design, and trademarks
- You can't copy, modify, or redistribute our platform
- You can use our name/logo to say you use Butterbase
- Your recipes and content remain yours
- Don't use our branding to imply endorsement without permission
Termination
- You can cancel your account anytime from settings
- We can suspend/terminate accounts for terms violations
- We can discontinue the service with 60 days notice (you'll get data export)
- Unpaid accounts may be suspended or deleted
- Upon termination, your data is deleted per our privacy policy
Limitation of Liability
- Butterbase is provided 'as is' without warranties
- We're not liable for lost profits, data loss, or indirect damages
- Our total liability is limited to what you paid in the last 12 months
- We're not responsible for third-party integrations or services
- You use the platform at your own risk
Indemnification
- You agree to defend us against claims arising from your use of the service
- This includes claims from your customers, employees, or partners
- You're responsible for your business operations and compliance
- We're not a party to disputes between you and your customers
Dispute Resolution
- Governed by the laws of [Your State/Country]
- Disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration
- Class action lawsuits are waived
- For small claims (<$10,000), either party can file in small claims court
- If arbitration is invalid in your jurisdiction, disputes handled by courts in [Your Jurisdiction]
Miscellaneous
- These terms constitute the entire agreement
- If any provision is invalid, the rest remains in effect
- Failure to enforce a right doesn't waive that right
- You can't assign these terms to someone else
- We can assign these terms if acquired or restructured
TL;DR: Be cool, don't abuse the platform, pay your bills, we're not responsible if something goes wrong, disputes go to arbitration, and we own the platform but you own your data. Pretty standard stuff.
