Hi, I'm Chris, the founder of Butterbase. I'm a software engineer with over 14 years of experience building products that solve real problems. While I enjoy baking myself, my real connection to this industry comes from my family - multiple family members run cottage bakeries and are constantly at farmers markets.
I've watched them struggle with the business side of their passion. They were drowning in spreadsheets, losing track of costs, juggling customer orders on paper, and spending more time on admin than actually baking. I knew there had to be a better way.
When the recent changes in the tech job market affected me personally, I saw an opportunity to combine my software expertise with a real need I'd witnessed firsthand. I wanted to build something meaningful that would genuinely help people while also starting my own business.
So I built Butterbase - the tool my family needed, and the tool that thousands of home bakers deserve.
